Talking About Black History Month with Nadine Williams

Poet, artist and writer, Nadine Williams spoke to students in Grades 5 to 8 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School on February 10 about Black History Month. Ms. Williams shared stories about her childhood in Jamaica and her immigration to Canada at the age of 15 with the students. She also read her poem entitled “Immigrant Child” to the students and staff.

Ms. Williams and the students completed a brainstorming exercise and wrote the ending to a poem which focused on living in harmony together.
